Was Edith Piaf a fan of Billie Holiday?

according to the movie "La Vie En Rose" there is a scene where Edith's assistant gets her Billies record and I was wondering if anyone knew if she really did enjoy Billie Holiday's music. if so, did they ever collaborate and make music together?
