Is film composing a good way to go?

I'm thinking about my career path. I'm a musician. I am studying a standard Certificate in Music (Level 3) and I'm wondering about where-to from there. My career options and musical strengths are in music producing, composing and arranging. I pay a lot of attention to emotions when it comes to the overall collaborated song. Therefore, I believe I would enjoy and do well as a film composer. How do I get there? I live in NZ and I'm only 16. It helps to know what your plans are early on.
