Who really built Taj-Mahal in Agra, India?

I visited Taj (a hindu Temple built around 1155 AD) which I have seen (1953), even its basement. This seven story building was built on wells foundation, over which looks like a layer of petrified wood, which if struck with hammer makes pinging noise and hammer flies back.
